Diamonds in the rough

Look over there. There are diamonds there for you. No, not over there on the other side of the field. Over there right next to you. Just bend down and scoop it up, and you will have the diamond right in your hand.

Dr. Russell Conwell, who was the founder of Temple University, delivered a lecture over 6000 times. Someone later documented his speech in the timeless and classic book Acres of Diamond. It is an incredibly well-told story.

The thing about this story that has so profoundly affected millions of people is the idea that each of us is, at this very moment, standing in the middle of our acres of diamonds. If we only had the wisdom and patience to intelligently and effectively explore the work in which we’re now engaged, to examine ourselves, we would most likely find the riches we seek, whether they be financial or intangible or both.

Let’s drop some diamonds — Adam style.

Do the following periodically or as often as you feel you need some re-alignment. As with anything else, it becomes a habit, and the exercise takes less time every time you do it.

Address your Concerns and Goals

Create metaphors for your problem(s)

Assess your alignment to the Neurological Levels

The Pyramid of Neurological Levels was first coined by Gregory Bateson and referred to a model created by Robert Dilts.

Purpose/Spiritual Connection
Purpose/Spiritual Connection
Personal Identity
Beliefs and Values
Capability

Identify your current reality.

Analyze current obstacles.

Do a GAP analysis.

Past Reality
Current Reality
Possible Future Reality

Ask the following questions.

What do I want and have?
What do I want and don't have?
What don't I want and have
What  don't I want and don't have

Short Summary

The logical levels are a tool that allows us to analyze our lives and situations in our life through different perspectives.

The fascinating thing about these logical levels is that they mostly operate in the subconscious mind rather than the conscious mind.

Every goal you ever want to achieve or a problem in your life bothering you is within one of those logical levels, first in your subconscious.

The good news is that once you understand the model, you can better understand your problem and use different thinking levels to solve it.
